It is designed to easily wind tape smoothly and evenly, avoiding hang ups during deployment and retrieval. With the rollers of the Lateral Winder installed against the reel, the manual winding of the meter engages the lateral mechanism. The lateral motion of the mechanism allows the tape to be wound
